100 points by Decanter for Amarone Fieramonte

Fieramonte 2015 (Amarone della Valpolicella Classico Riserva D.O.C.G.) has been awarded 100 points by the historic British magazine Decanter, one of the most prestigious wine magazines in the world. Allegrini’s is the first, and only, Amarone to have achieved this recognition, which effectively represents the gold medal of red wine.

This superb result confirms the commitment and dedication of the Allegrini company on the one hand, and on the other, the value and strength of Valpolicella, which is increasingly appreciated internationally.

“We cannot but be happy and honoured to see our beloved Fieramonte top the rankings in such an authoritative magazine as Decanter. These 100 points demonstrate the excellence of the Allegrini style but are also a profound source of pride for the entire Valpolicella. Results like this confirm that sacrifices and passion are always well motivated. And speaking of tenacity and dedication, our thoughts can only go to Franco, who passed away just a few months ago. It was his foresight, his vision and his patience that brought about the rebirth of this emblematic wine. We are convinced that, wherever he is, he will be raising a glass with us to this beautiful 100” – commented the Allegrini family.

The history of Fieramonte demonstrates our great determination as well as our authentic trust in the terroir of the Veronese upper hillsides. Two key dates stand out: 1960, the first single vineyard vintage, and 2011, when everything started again after a complete overhaul, a replanting and a long waiting period during which the vines were allowed to reach the right level of maturity and subsequently win over fans from all over the world.

There could not have been higher recognition than this award for Amarone Fieramonte which, together with La Poja, makes its debut on La Place de Bordeaux on 29th September alongside the world’s great wines.
