America, where are you heading?
Villa della Torre hosts
“the history of the potato…and of Trump”
"America, where are you heading? A look at the history of the potato ... and Donald Trump."
This is the title (in translation) of the conference to be held on Friday, 3rd February at Villa Della Torre, in collaboration with Coldiretti Verona. The programme includes a guided tour of the villa at 5.30pm.
6pm: opening welcome address by the Director of Villa Della Torre, Giancarlo Mastella, and the regional manager of Coldiretti, Pietro Piccioni.
6.30pm: Gianni Moriani, lecturer on the Master's course in the Philosophy of Food and Wine at the University of San Raffaele in Milan, will talk about "The Palladian style of the White House."
6.45pm: Fabrizio Tonello, a lecturer on Political Science at the University of Padua, will talk politics, focusing in particular on "Donald Trump: what he wants to do and what he can do."
An aperitif with wines by Allegrini will be followed by a dinner at 8.15pm with the starring role played by the potato, artfully cast and directed by our in-house chef, Diego Speri. His McVilla Menu is a playful tribute to American culinary creations.
The invitation is open to the public. (NB. The talks are only in Italian.)
Prior booking is required: please call us on (+39) 045 6832070 or e-mail us at firstname.lastname@example.org. The all-inclusive cost of the dinner is €60 per person.
