A book for Vinitaly:
Valerio Massimo Manfredi
‘tells a tale’ for Allegrini!

A book for Vinitaly 2018. Valerio Massimo Manfredi, the Italian author who has sold 15 million books worldwide, has written a tale exclusively for Allegrini, setting it at Villa Della Torre, the Company's beautiful headquarters and official venue. Manfredi presented the story 'Amoris Potio' (Love Potion) today in Verona, on the opening day of Vinitaly, the world's largest annual wine fair. The story takes place between the Renaissance and today in Fumane di Valpolicella (in the province of Verona), in a succession of thrilling twists and turns, weaving historical investigation and the fantastical.
"When I visited Villa Della Torre - explains Manfredi, the author of historical novels of international success such as Alexander, The Last Legion, The Tyrant - the story conjured itself. The Villa is so evocative, populated by monsters and demons, but where harmony and radiance prevail, crowned by the vineyards of Valpolicella. The book - anticipates Manfredi - tells the story of an abandoned dwelling and a group of youngsters who set off to explore it, trying to unveil its mystery. In the background, lies a miraculous wine: amoris potio".
"The link between wine and culture is a recurrent theme in Allegrini's philosophy - says Marilisa Allegrini, the Company's CEO - who also dedicated the new Limited Edition label of La Grola to the book, entrusted for the new year, 2015, to the artist Leonardo Ulian. A book and a wine should be enjoyed slowly, their fascination lingers over time and is sometimes increased by it, and they need human emotions to be appreciated and interpreted".
